Growth financing Landmarkt

Yuno Advisors advised Landmarkt, a specialized food retail organization with a focus on freshly produced authentic and local products, in the realization of a funding structure aimed at further growth.

Landmarkt (www.landmarkt.nl) opened its first store in Amsterdam Schellingwoude in 2011, followed by a city store in the Van Woustraat in Amsterdam in 2014. Landmarkt has chosen a market positioning with an emphasis on high quality and fresh products, and co-operates with approximately 100 different fresh produce suppliers of which the majority is situated within an array of 40 km of its stores. Landmarkt chooses a position “between city and countryside” with small scale suppliers who operate in a traditional and/or authentic manner. Moreover, Landmarkt also offers the regular dry grocery range, offering its customers a complete assortment for their daily purchases. In the Schellingwoude store customers can also visit Restaurant the Proeverij (the “Tasting Restaurant”), where fresh meals, both small and large, are prepared on the basis of products that are sold in the store.

The founder and co-shareholder Thijs van Banning recognizes that in the current competitive food retail market environment, there is room for a concept that is focused on a high-quality and fresh assortment. The ambition is to open more Landmarkt stores in the years ahead. Co-shareholder Robert Kalter is committed to the growth plan, and in addition Landmarkt has broadened its financing base to be able to achieve accelerated growth.

Yuno Advisors assisted the shareholders of Landmarkt in the financing process. Our advisory concerned the entire project coordination, the realization of the strategic and financial plan for the coming years, structuring of the transaction, deal negotiations, valuation, due diligence coordination and transaction documentation.
